Discover How NEX Elevates Teaching Through Advanced Manufacturing Workshops
We are an educational nonprofit dedicated to empowering Career and Technical Education teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively teach advanced manufacturing. Our goal is to equip educators with the expertise required to integrate sophisticated technology into their classrooms, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education in this rapidly evolving field.
At NEX, we recognize the importance of professional development for CTE teachers, and our Manufacturing Engineering Workshop is designed to address the specific needs of educators involved in CNC machining instruction. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, hands-on experience, and collaborative learning, we provide a supportive environment for teachers to enhance their understanding of blue print reading, Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer-Aided Design (CAD), 3D printing, and principles as they relate to CNC machining. We believe that by building strong connections and sharing best practices, educators can inspire and empower the next generation of manufacturing engineers.
Testimonials From Recent Attendees:
"I was amazed by the quality of the CAM and CNC machining PD; the facility was outstanding, and the materials provided were exactly what we needed to stay ahead of the curve. I've been able to translate this experience and the knowledge I've gained into my classroom, benefiting my students immensely."
- ER, High School STEM/CTE Teacher
"After 30 years in the classroom, the NEX workshop blew me away as the best PD I've ever been to. It was all about getting our hands dirty and having real discussions with other teachers and industry professionals."
- MF, Middle School IA Teacher
"The electrical engineering workshop at NEX was a game-changer for me. The practical applications of circuit design and software tools were exactly what my students needed to succeed. Learning to integrate SPICE simulations into my curriculum has made a significant difference in my teaching approach."
-JB, Vocational High School Teacher
"Diving into digital humanities, especially all the stuff about grabbing data and using GIS to tell stories, has been a game changer for me as a librarian. Now, I can show students how to map out their stories or history projects with innovative tech tools."
